エンジニアには、（1）自分で作りたいものを作りたい、（2）自分が蓄えてきた能力やスキル、技術を、必要としている人に使っていきたい――の2つがある。今まで前者は満たされていたが、後者に関してはあまりなかった。“偉くなりすぎた”せいで、何かに押されて言語を覚えないということもなかったが、環境が変わり、あれもこれもやらないといけなくなった。それが楽しい。
